Ballroom Dance Group Classes
Ballroom
HI Everyone!!
We hear you & we care!
Our group classes are a great way for you to learn how to dance, practice and meet new people.
We offer a new beginners class every month so in one year, you could learn 12 dances!
Our classes are progressive with each week building on the previous weeks' steps, so if you want to join in we suggest doing in at the start of each session.
* Otherwise you are welcome to drop in a class if you can only do a couple of the classes for the month.
We are trying something slightly differently starting in SEPTEMBER.

This dance (and all contemporary Swing) has its roots with the Lindy Hop dances done at the great Savoy Ballroom in Harlem in the 1920’s and 1930’s. East Coast Swing is an energetic, fast dance, done usually with triple steps and rock steps to Big Band or contemporary music that ‘swings’. East Coast Swing is a happy, fun, upbeat dance. Distinguished by its bounce, rock step (back break), Swing hip motion and triple steps, East Coast Swing is also a non-progressive dance. The Swing frame is typically in Closed Promenade position with the leader’s left hand at the waist level and the right hand is on the follower’s left shoulder blade.

Something a Little More Challenging
Saturdays, 12 - 2pm
This class is a favorite among many of our students. Everyone loves the opportunity to explore the new dance moves taught in this class. Intermediate/Advanced is for students who have a good knowledge of the basic steps and are looking something a little more challenging.
