Brian Thomas Sload

Brian Thomas Sload born and raised in West Chester and began breakin’ in 1982.

Staying true to form, Brian’s training in breakin’ came strictly from the streets.  As a member of Shock Explosion, a Philadelphia area based crew, he competed in events locally. Upon the break up of Shock Explosion Brian formed a new crew called MACH7 which competed and performed throughout the Delaware Valley. Over time, Brian turned his focus to martial arts and bodybuilding in which he received intense training from some of the nations leading martial artists.  Some of these trainers include, Marty Feldman boxing coach to several U.S. champions, Andy Carr nationally known Tang So Do specialist, and Denis Nackord world renowned Kempo Stylist.  Brian devoted 6 hard years of training to martial arts receiving a high level ranking in the form
Shotokan from Bob Hoffman of the ISKF.  Yet, despite the concentrated training the art of breakin’ never left his soul. Brian’s motto is, “Once a Bboy always a Bboy”.   Brian began to connect his martial arts and breakin’ backgrounds to create his own unique style within the dance form.  This style has a powerful explosion of what he calls trick bustin’ which involves a series of twisted flips and aerial moves.

Brian is founder of EXTREMEKICKS a circuit for breakers to compete, make friends, and obtain performing opportunities.  EXTREMEKICKS has also served as a way to keep the true elements of hip hop alive, and given young people a way to see hip hop outside of the many negative connotations the culture carries today.  Brian has been teaching the art of breakin’ for numerous years now at places such as the West Chester YMCA, and Body Quest located in Downingtown and several studios in and around the Philadelphia area.

Currently Brian is teaching throughout Philadelphia including Pivot Ballroom Dance Studio in Kimberton.  In addition to his teaching Brian is a IT professional and has his own consulting/ subcontracting business in which his current clients comprise of the Department of Defense & various IT vendors.  Brian resides in Morgantown, Pa with his wife Sandra Dee Guillen.  He also currently filming a movie "Gotta Jam" A breakdance comedy that revolves around the Philadelphia area.  Stay tuned for this old time Breaker who is currently active and still throwing down moves.
